analysis of the World Cup final 2010

This world cup final 2010 has been a memorable one, one for that my team didn't lift the trophy, but the best team on that day won. This particular game will be remembered for a few reasons listed below -

the kungfu kick
- the Nigel De Jong kungfu kick
on Alonso which would have been the envy of
even a 3rd Dan Black Belt kungfu master. Alonso, tough as he may be (as all Liverpool players), may end up with a few broken ribs. But this guy played on , such is the dedication of the Spanish players to the greater cause of the team.

the Arjen Robben misses
- you don't expect to miss a sure goal chance like that two times and still expect to win a World Cup, my apologies Mr Arjen, it just doesn't work that way in spite of all your theatrics & gesticulations.

the Cesc Fabregas wonder- till the final Cesc has been playing not more than a total of 90 minutes in the previous matches. Fortune came in the form of extra-time where he finally get his one chance and he repaid that trust with that magnificent pass to Iniesta. Otherwise the headline almost says "so far yet so far away" is the Spanish coach Del Bosque listening, the world cup trophy was nearly the dream you would never had....u nearly waste that creative talent and the final gamble paid off handsomely.

the disappointment
- Almost everyone was expecting a penalty shootout, bad timing indeed to score just 5 minutes to go. It should have gone to the penalty shootout, then at least the losing fans will get some consolation but this result is bitter sweet disappointment to many of us. I wouldn't even want the Organjes to score in the dying minutes, but that's the way it is
